Sometimes a glittering career hides some of the most heartbreaking stories. Lolo Jones, who won the USA and the World Olympic Games for the hurdle in 2013, has only reached this position with a lot of perseverance and effort. Jones was the sole child of a five-child family who lived in a slum. Her mother and she lived in the basement of the local church. Jones was required to relocate to a different school each year up until her time in high school due to her nomadic nature. While at Theodore Roosevelt High School Jones lived apart from her mother to explore her love of the track and field events. She lived with different families during high school to be focused on her studies. Jones was a part of the Orchestra of Iowa as well as the Gatorade Track and Field Award. In addition, she won the award in school. Jones was a college student when she went to college, was one of the best hurdlers. At the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championships, she won the 100-meters hurdles. Jones was also part of the second team to finish in the 100 meter relay. Jones has been crowned the winner of the indoor hurdles at NCAA Championships in both 2003 and 2004. Jones started her track and field career in 2005 when she finished her undergraduate studies. She won at least her events, the Torino Memorial and the Heusden Track Championships this same year.

Brandt was raised and born in Cape Town, South African. She immigrated to Auckland New Zealand with her family in her teens. Discovered by local casting directors Brandt played the part as Naevia as Naevia in Starz popular Spartacus: Blood and Sand as well as Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. Working with producers Steven S. D Knight and Sam Raimi she captivated audiences by her acting and was one of the shows most memorable performers. She was a part of the cult Netflix show Lucifer with a six years run as the fan most loved Vertigo/DC comic book character Mazikeen. Forbes declared Lucifer as the most-repeated show in 2021. Brandt's next appearance will be in an episode of six in the Walking Dead spinoff in 2024 in the role of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurrira. She is also starring opposite Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan and Chris Meloni in the adult animated comedy Captain Fall which airs July 2023 on Netflix. Lesley-Ann Brandt was born the 2nd of December, 1981, in Cape Town South Africa. She's a very talented New Zealand actress. Lesley Brandt and her family moved to Auckland, New Zealand in the year 1999. After some time working in retail and then being promoted into the role of an IT consultant. Lesley has performed in numerous commercials following a couple of modeling projects. In 2008, she finished her studies in acting, as well as furthering her education in Meisner methods of studying. Lesley Brandt's very first recognizable actor role was on the TV drama Diplomatic Immunity, which aired in New Zealand. Lesley Brandt appeared in the New Zealand drama Shortland Street, as a visitor supporting character. She also appeared in This Is Not My Life, which was based on the fictional city of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt starred in the drama series Spartacus: Blood and Sand in the role of Naevia, a hostage who then appeared in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena Miniseries.
