Lucy Lawless has a long and notable career as an actor as well as a musician in New Zealand. Her most memorable performances include Xena Warrior Princess and Spartacus Blood and Sand. In all of her roles as an actress She was highly acclaimed and remembered for her amazing portrayal of the character Xena. Lucy played the part initially intended to be played by Vanessa Angel. She was in a position to not make it to the shoot due to illness. In the month of September, 1995 the show was relaunched as a spinoff in her character Xena. Lucy was more well-known for her acting after her spinoff. The ratings of the show increased as did its popularity and cultural value. Not only is she well-known to the public as Xena but she is also known for her role in the role of Diane Lewis Swanson on NBCs famous comedy Parks and Recreation which she played from 2012 until 2015.
